Chris Ford, PE

Vice President of Operations

J. Chris Ford, PE, is Vice President of Operations at HIGHFILL. Chris brings 30 years of experience in the planning, design, and management of construction contract administration for numerous water and sewer projects. His experience includes condition assessment and rehabilitation of pump stations and pipelines, as well as design of new elevated water storage tanks, booster stations, pipelines, wastewater interceptors, pump stations, and force mains.

Over the last 14 years, Chris has focused on condition assessment and rehabilitation of gravity and pressure mains, primarily through the use of trenchless technologies. His trenchless rehabilitation experience ranges from pipe bursting fracturable pipes (cast iron, VC) to pipe splitting non-fracturable pipes (ductile iron, PVC) to installation of high pressure (100 PSI) CIPP liners. His trenchless experience also includes horizontal directional drills up to 30-inches in diameter and numerous jack and bores of various sizes. Chris is recognized throughout the Southeast for his advanced understanding of trenchless technologies on pipeline infrastructure and for his role as an officer for the Southeast Society of Trenchless Technology.

Outside the office, you can usually find Chris spending time at his family farm or attending one of his children’s baseball games or gymnastics meets. He also enjoys participating in service projects with Engineering Ministries International and the North Carolina Baptist Men.
