President Tyler Highfill was honored with the Arthur Sidney Bedell Award at the NC AWWA-WEA 2015 Annual Conference.
According to the NC AWWA-WEA website, the award is given by the Association to “acknowledge extraordinary personal service to the member associations.”
“It is an incredible honor to be recognized by the NC AWWA-WEA with this service award,” says Tyler, “and humbling to be associated with such a fine group of previous award winners.”
Tyler’s service to NC AWWA-WEA includes serving as the current chair of the Career Ladders Task Force. This small group of volunteers has been responsible for developing the Association’s newest training initiative, The Academy, from an idea to a fully functioning program over the past two years. The Academy was established to serve as a structured and specialized training and certification program for water professionals and to give employers a quantifiable method to compare employees’ skills and development.
In addition to Tyler’s service on the Career Ladders Task Force, he is also a 5-S member and has served as Trustee and WEF Delegate on the NC AWWA-WEA board in the past.
