ASSISTANT
(PART-TIME)

POSITION:  Administrative/Project Assistant (30 hours/week)


LOCATION:  Cary, North Carolina

We have a great opportunity for a service-focused administrative assistant in a growing office. We are water engineers who serve our local communities through our professional consulting services. This exciting role will contribute supporting services for our engineering staff with opportunities for expanded roles based on the unique talents of the successful candidate.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW: Successful candidate will assist a growing engineering consulting office with various tasks designed to enhance daily workflow.

 

TYPICAL ACTIVITIES: Duties include receiving guests, receiving and directing phone calls, processing mail, preparing packages for shipment, ordering and maintaining office supplies, maintaining the office filing system, project database entry, making deliveries, and administrative project support for our engineering staff. Successful candidate will also generate correspondence, spreadsheets, presentations, and other electronic documents related to engineering staff’s project work and will have opportunities to grow with the company.

This is a part-time (typically 30 hours/week), in-office position with benefits. Our benefits include paid time off and paid employee health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. The salary range is $18/hr to $22/hr based on experience.


QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, business, or related field preferred, but not required

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Organized and efficient

  • Highly motivated to work independently, as well as with teams

  • Attentive to detail

  • Exhibits a high level of professionalism

  • Capable of moderate lifting (generally 25 pounds or less)

  • Capable of operating a motor vehicle, must have valid driver license

  • Preference will be given to candidates with proven experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Microsoft Office 365 applications (including SharePoint administration)

    • Computer and Network IT administration

    • Benefits administration and human resources

    • Proposal writing and/or editing

    • Recruitment and/or onboarding of professional staff

    • Social media and marketing

    • Adobe Creative Suite/InDesign

    • AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS
